Owner & founder of Bandwagon Retro Sports Apparel, Wayne Welden, started his retro apparel stores in South Carolina. After 25+ years as a golf professional in Myrtle Beach, SC, he decided to pursue another passion, a retro-themed sports apparel store. In 2010, the first store, The Vault, opened on King Street in Charleston, SC. Stores in Mt. Pleasant and Greenville, SC, soon followed. Having graduated from UNC, Wayne had always wanted to return to Colorado. The mountains were calling, so he sold the business in South Carolina and they moved to Fort Collins to open Rocky Mountain Retro in December 2018. Now, in 2021, Wayne has changed the name to Bandwagon Retro Sports Apparel, to convey the unique nature of his store.
